Role and Responsibilities

GSC was established to manage operations related to the maritime shipping of goods, minerals, and oil products. The carrier will also manage chartering, acquisition and operation of ships.

The Corporate Head Office is in Conakry, capital of Guinea.

Operational, Financial and Administrative HQ

The operational, financial & administrative Head Office is based in Hong Kong and was incorporated in 2009.

Executive Chairman

Bernt Meldgaard Christensen is the Executive Chairman of Guinea Shipping Corporation (GSC) and has a wealth of experience in the maritime sector spanning 30 years. He has worked in the offshore oil and gas industries and in marine logistics. Mr. Christensen leads the experienced GSC team and is committed to building a world-class shipping line with strong roots in Guinea. He carries on the work of his brother Henrik, who founded the company in 2010 and sadly passed away in April 2020

Director, Hong Kong

Paul is a highly experienced transportation, logistics and equipment leasing professional with over 25 years working experience, extensively with carriers, leasing and logistics companies in Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the United States. He has developed an outstanding reputation for leadership, operational excellence, business development, process improvement and key account management.

Paul previously served as Vice President of South China, Hong Kong, Philippines and Central Asia for Container Applications International (NYSE: CAI), one of the world’s leading lessors with headquarters in San Francisco. Prior to that post, Paul was Head of Business Development for DHL Supply Chain in Hong Kong and before that served over 17 years for Neptune Orient Lines / American President Lines in various positions of increasing seniority worldwide. Paul is a British citizen and a permanent resident of Hong Kong. He is married with an adult son and enjoys current affairs, watching rugby and when the opportunity arises, flying light aircraft.
